We are still celebrating women over here on the blog (because who says International Women’s Day has to be limited to only one day...not me!!!)

Today, I’m thinking about how one of the most beautiful and special things that women can do is to empower each other!

I’d like to invite you to take a couple moments to think back over your lifetime to a person who empowered you…Someone that made you feel like you could do ANYTHING. I know for me - that person was my friend Jen, who has since passed… Life felt SO joyful and free with her. She knew exactly how to make me feel wonderful about myself, which is making me think about how the way we empower others can be and should be individualized.  There is no right or wrong way. There are no rules for how to celebrate other women! I think it’s so interesting to hear how women are celebrated in different parts of the world. In fact, one of my favorite stories that came in for International Women’s Day was from Ema, who shared about how the day is celebrated in Romania. [/cmsms_text][/cmsms_column][/cmsms_row][cmsms_row data_classes="bac_pink" data_padding_bottom="20" data_padding_top="0" data_color="default" data_width="boxed"][cmsms_column data_width="1/1" data_classes="toppad"][cmsms_text]“What I remember about the International Women’s day. I just remember my best friend from middle school Andrea, she was always a great support for me especially when we become older. I feel like we empowered each other all the time, and when I was around her I felt like a could do anything I wanted and that all the things I was dreaming about (I’m a big dreamer), I was able to realize because of her believing in me and in my dreams. Unfortunately since I moved to US 11 years ago, I can’t see her as much as I want to, we live on two different continents now.I remember when we were kids, we always had a recital at school on March 8th to celebrate the women in our life. In my case, that was my mother. The school took our pictures and then we gifted them to our moms. When I finished school and I started working, March 8th become more significant for me because I was not a little girl anymore and I was celebrated. Employers used to throw parties for all the women at work: they ordered food for us and we got flowers… awesome day! I remember the city policemen were handing out flowers to women on the streets that day, everybody was celebrating women that day.”[/cmsms_text][/cmsms_column][/cmsms_row][cmsms_row data_padding_bottom="32" data_padding_top="0" data_color="default" data_width="boxed"][cmsms_column data_width="1/2" data_classes="toppad"][cmsms_text animation_delay="0"]As I read Ema’s story - I kept thinking omg this is absolutely baked into the culture in Romania and what a wonderful way to celebrate women, acknowledge them, and make them feel special. Thank you, Ema, for sharing your story. I felt the love and power of such a beautiful friendship, and it just goes to show how we can lift others up to realize their dreams![/cmsms_text][/cmsms_column][cmsms_column data_width="1/2"][cmsms_image align="none" animation_delay="0"]8837|https://www.elysewagner.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/best-friends-min.jpg|full[/cmsms_image][/cmsms_column][/cmsms_row][cmsms_row data_width="boxed" data_color="default" data_padding_top="0" data_padding_bottom="20"][cmsms_column data_width="1/1" data_classes="toppad"][cmsms_text animation_delay="0" classes="toppad"]
